An organ update

The organ installation is ongoing and wonderful.

I not only heard it sound today, but I also got the chance to "play" one of the ranks. While I was there this afternoon, I also go the chance to hear some of the pedal. Beautiful stuff. Beautiful. Even with all the cyphers (air leaks in the pipe valves that create discordant, sustained sounds), even with it being out of tune...It is still SOMETHING TO HEAR, as well as to see.

Some quick photos to keep you all informed:One remarkable feature: above is the computer that drives the presets for the stops. Standard processors, all in a wood case! Go figure...A wooden computer. Upgrades available, and it is pretty much "plug and play."

So, the work continues. Right now, the focus seems to be on the mechanical and electronic actions. Little tweaks and turns and additions to set the stage for Martin beginning to voice sometime in the next couple of weeks.
